my sister and I went to a new store here called "ATWOODS" it's like a home/farm/ranch kind of store- they had ACTUAL live baby chicks for sale! anywho, I had JUST told her about this sling shot thing that you can launch tennis balls with for your dog w/out TOTALLY killing your (MY) back to do so......low and behold- THEY HAD IT! so we got it- REAVY(and his daddy) LOVE IT! It's called "Hyper dog", and for those of you in the know...THAT'S reavy totally!! :) We've used it here in the back yard, but I cannot WAIT to take him to an open park tomorrow!!

OMG! we made tiffanie's chicken pot pie tonight for dinner and it was A M A Z I N G!! so so good! never ever again will we EVER buy a frozen chicken pot pie! I accidentally left the potato soup at my sister's, so we improvised w/ cream of mushroom instead. added a little grated onion, heavy cream, milk, sour cream......STUPENDOUS!! THIS is definitely a staple around here!! :) SERIOUSLY, I can't even tell you how tasty it was!!

Now this is an AWESOME dog!

okay, so OUR dogs are awesome, the cutest, etc....YOUR dog and/or dogs are awesome and the cutest, etc :).....but THIS dog is super awesome! how cool is that!?!? not that I would EVER even think of trying to surf-but super cool! my brother once had an irish setter named Shamus, we called him Shamu- HE was awesome. He would climb the steps and GO DOWN a slide in a park. He also fell out of my brother's truck(my stupid STUPID 20 -something brother at the time) in colorado springs, Steve wasn't able to catch him on this very busy street w/ lots of cars..... :( three days later that freaking AWESOME dog showed up at our house, which is 25 miles away from colorado springs! there wasn't a single thing wrong with him- now that dog LOVED my brother! needless to say my brother NEVER put Shamus in the back of his truck again!!

okay lisa & GF, these are for you! i think our carport has 6 poles and there are vines climbing up all but ONE! it's on the fence, it's on the arbor (along with the other stuff we got and we're trying to make one of our jasmines go to it as well) i know i've said it before....but these things are AWESOME. we LOVE them. next year we are going to make them create a natural sun blind on the back yard side of the carport- the afternoon sun can be blinding! awesome awesome awesome!! :) :)

Lazy Sunday morning...

we just got home from going to Save-a-Lot, great fun, but not TOO terrible on a Sunday morning since all but us heathens are at one of the many, many churches here!! we actually got quite a bit for 40 bucks-so that's groovy! :) anywho, the dogs always get all stressed out when we go somewhere w/out them, ESPECIALLY Reavy, so he's a little worn out right now and I couldn't resist taking a picture b/c he's just so damn cute!!

SOOOO BUSTED!

well, I was just writing an e mail to our friends charlie and lisa, and when reading it over to julie....I'M BUSTED! you see, two weeks ago i was helping my sister & bro-in-law move my niece, samantha, into her apartment in little rock, where she's a freshman in college this year (god, i can't BELIEVE she's that old!) anywho, long story short, i stepped off a tinsey winsey step and screwed up my back- i have been using canes, mowed the front yard with the rider instead of the push, using a heating pad every night as well as evenings in the tv-watching chair.....anyway- i never really TOLD jl WHAT exactly it was that i thought caused this....and well, now she KNOWS....BUSTED :( it REALLY REALLY is getting better though i've assured her! :)

sadly, last night was the final episode of Ice Road Truckers on the History channel. we L O V E D that show! hopefully it will come back with another season next year- i think it did pretty well.

holy fucking shit! it's been sooooooooo unbelievably hot here for almost two straight weeks! i'm talking the "feels like" temp has been as high as 115! like RIGHT NOW, at barely 11 am it's 79 in Cypress and feels like 84- here on the other hand...it's 91 and it feels like 104! did I mention that it's 11 am?? and in Boone it's 84 feeling like a whopping 85! UGH. everyone at my sisters is in colorado right now, so julie and I have been going over there every afternoon and getting in the pool, so that's the ONLY thing that is helping right now! Reavy was a little freaked out by swimming, by the way, but I think that if he gets into a river or a lake, he'll LOVE it!okie dokie- I just wanted to bitch about this fucking weather!

home again!

this was little aidan resting on the couch last night after her ordeal at dr. melton's. she was VERY happy to be home, and surprisingly VERY happy to see us at the vet-usually if she's spent the night away anywhere she acts like she doesn't know or care who we are or that we beat her!! we were able to pick her up yesterday afternoon around 4. he said that she either ate something toxic in the yard, which caused her to have a seizure, which in turn caused her fever OR she just had a seizure for whatever reason. so we're hoping, and really thinking that it is the prior and that there won't be a recurrence anytime soon!

Aidan a.k.a. a-hole

so our little aidan is STILL running a fever, though it's not nearly as bad, it's 102.4 and that's only a little over one degree high for pooches. so they have "medicated her" whatever that means, since our vet was outside w/ a horsey, I got my info from the office person... anyway, dr. melton wants to see if she has an appetite, so we are supposed to call back around 2 this afternoon and check on her again.....hopefully she will eat and we'll be able to go get her :(

poor little Aidan!

we just got home from the vet, and Aidan is still there. :( she started acting all whiny and shaky earlier this afternoon and she seemed kind of hot.a little later it was dinner time and she was trying to eat it, but it was like when you are totally sick and they think some food is going to help, but you can only manage to take a few bites. and THAT was what she was doing- and most everyone knows she likes her food! so once that happened we KNEW something was for sure wrong with her. so we loaded everybody up and went down to our vet -30 min. away in bastrop, la. so she has some kind of infection from what they have no idea and she has a bigtime doggie fever. we had to hold ice packs on her while the vet was examining her and giving her shots of this and that. when we finally left, someone had just walked in w/ an IV bag and they were going to hook her up :( ... so the vet just called us around 5:15 and said that her fever has gone down one degree, so she is keeping the ice packs on her because she doesn't want to have to use some drug that will make the fever go down- apparently it's better if their body does it. so she'll be there over night and we call tomorrow and find out how she's doing...ugh! dogs! aidan especially has been pretty pricey in all of her 9 years! though I think we spent 500 on reavy's infected foot & neutering when it was all said and done - but at least it wasn't ONE bill like this will be! :( ugh. it's always something!!

of fucking course!! the flat monitor that i got in OCTOBER is flickering! so...it's probably totally dead, but i'm going to take it to a computer repair place here and see if my shit ass luck can be reversed!












so now i am using the GIGANTOR old one! SUPER! it totally sucks having to have it pushed off in the corner! U G H ! once you go flat you can't go back! :( unfortunately, if the other one isn't repairable for pequeno dinero......it will be quite some time before i get to go back!!!! :( :(

hangover cure

omfg! we are both soooooooooo hungover. :( julie is taking a sick day today. somehow we've managed to get to mcdonalds to get some sausage biscuits and coffees, & we just went to save a lot and got some food for the rest of the day. we're going to eat pizza, cupcakes, ice cream, cupcakes, and cheesecake and not give a shit about ANY of it! i'm going back to bed now.

ugh. i'm 38 it's 1:25 am, i'm wasted, that's all i need to say! :(

(the thing that looks like a fly is really one of these offshoots) so anyway, Samantha had a butt load of them and I was so excited b/c they are really groovy, and they get BIG! (and everyone know I'm crazy when it comes to plant life!)

5 eggs
1/2c cream
1/2c water
1/2c bisquick or similar
frozen broccoli
1+c grated ched & mozz
frozen raw shrimp (thaw it first) chop it up too
350-40-45 min

stir everything together in a bowl then pour into pie plate that's sprayed w/ pam.
you can put anything you want in- sometimes we do frozen spinach (but you have to thaw it and squeeze the water out first) and crispy bacon bits. you can also just use 1c milk instead of the 1/2 cream, 1/2 water

awesome! :) just had to take off some boards so the heat vent wouldn't be blocked and make a new shelf for the light to sit on. the door from our bathroom is right next to the light, and since the light switch is WAY over on the other side by the other door behind the curtains- we need a light on THIS side. our bathroom has two doors- so it's kind of cool that the w/d are right there outside one of them!

Quiche!

we used to make it all the time, but haven't for a long time- so i made a quiche w/shrimp and broccoli. it was yummy-it's great b/c you can eat it for breakfast or lunch!

and here's the best $40 we've ever spent.....

this thing is so awesome! unless you have a tempur-pedic bed- I would highly suggest one of these suckers!

OMG our bed is HUGE

we had been really really hating our bed lately! it had become SO unfuckingcomfortable that we were looking at getting another mattress (how the fuck we were going to AFFORD that i don't know!) so we had the box springs on the floor (2 sets so it was kinda high) i thought maybe if i took out one set it would be better. so i did, and it was. for like ONE night! so then we put two of our winter comforters on top of the mattress- getting much better, it was comfy for about a week! then finally i decided we should put the metal frame that holds the box springs/mattress up off of the floor back on instead of having it rest directly on the floor....SCORE - though it really makes the bed look HUGE- but oh well!! then we were at walmart and looked at one of those egg crate mattress pad dealies- well, these days they have ones that have about an inch of the memory foam stuff on them- so we got it and TOTAL SCORE- our bed is now once again comfortable!! YAY! now we will have to buy another mattress eventually, because this one is pretty old- but for now that $40 pad will do the trick!
