Subway smubway!

Dinner last night. Yum! I went and got some food yesterday since we were about out, so Julie will have something to eat today and tomorrow. I am going to Little Rock today because Samantha has to go home and Sherry STILL can't put both of her contacts in. I think she has like four days left of drops - yikes. Of course, she wears disposable contacts and wears the same pair FOREVER- not taking them out at night...etc. So basically, sister o'mine - I'm saying...I love you, but it's your own damn fault!! :) :) So Sherry can't drive up there, and oh yeah Sam is moving out of her apartment into another one at the same complex (thank GOD). And since well, she can't lift - oh probably - ANYTHING because of her surgery...we are going up there to make the switch and clean her old apartment. It should be LOTS of fun seeing my blood - pressure way sky high yesterday, and I was sweaty, nauseous, and had a head ache most of the day! :( Fortunately I was able to get some little pills from my units stash - WHEW! I am feeling much better today - not 100% but MUCH better! :) Anyway, we won't be coming home until sometime on Saturday, so Jules is going to have to fend for herself on the food front! :)

Poor Samantha...

Sam ended up getting to come home after less invasive surgery on Saturday. So that's good news! We made Sherry & Daryl some tuna casserole for dinner since they were in the hospital in Little Rock pretty much all day Saturday. Anyway, she's doing better except for puking at 4am Monday. Ugh. puking after you've had surgery doesn't sound like ANY fun. :( When I talked to Sherry yesterday evening, she was feeling better. She has all week to rest up though, so hopefully she'll feel better by the time she has to go back to class next week. :)

See, this is what happens when you make an early Easter Dinner...you get bored later on in the afternoon and want something sweet. So that means you have to make cookies! The little bit of Easter chocolate we got earlier in the week is LONG GONE! :)

OMG! I think that Easter SUCKS. We dyed easter eggs with Shannon today......what a TOTAL pain in the ass! THANK YOU GOD that I haven't been having to do this for the past 20 years. children are WAY WAY over rated! :) :) Rent -a-kid (niece) is the way to go!! Anyway, long-short...EASTER EGGS SUCK!

Shannon is spending tonight, possibly tomorrow night with us, as her sister, Samantha, is having surgery tomorrow morning in Little Rock. Sam most likely has malignant tumors on both of her ovaries....she's 19! So we're hoping that everything can be as noninvasive as possible and she'll be home at Sherry and Daryl's tomorrow. Most likely though, she'll probably be in the hospital for 3-4 days. WHAT a spring break she's having. :( Poor kid.

Easy breezy!

Tonight we had Chicken Alfredo for din din. It was yummy. It was easy - I LOVE easy, especially when it's also good! It was perfect too, because I went to Monroe and saw Horton Hears A Who with my sister and nieceling. Sherry has some eye infection and couldn't really drive, so since it's Shannon's spring break, I was nice and drove them down there. :)

Yum.

My sister and Daryl were in Denham Springs last weekend and they brought home some Louisiana Strawberries. Now if Louisiana has strawberries that are any better than from another state, I couldn't tell you, but they are pretty damn good for March! So we had some strawberry shortcake for dessert...yum!

AND....I got some Easter candy today too! Double yum. BTW - What the hell?! Wasn't it just St. Patrick's Day on Monday? How the fuck is it Easter already?

We're in so much trouble...

Since this is like the 3rd time we've used it and we're already moving on to things like frying your own tortilla chips! But, OMG, the bag of white corn tortillas we got was HUGE. Who the fuck needs THAT many corn tortillas?! Anyway, I froze what we didn't use after making chicken enchiladas, and today we thawed some of them out, cut them up and fried those motherfuckers! Y.U.M.!! :) All because we had them and we knew we could! :) And, I made pecos casserole for dinner tonight and chips always go good with that! :)

We don't want any surprises....

the next time we go camping. You only want to have ONE trip ever where you realize you don't have any tent poles!.... so we took the air mattress and pump out today and inflated it. INFLATED - not deflated, because it does both, and the nozzle was on DEFLATE for quite a while, so since it kind of takes a long time to pump it up AND you need the pump to deflate it - we just put it on the spare bed. I'll get some more batteries later and deflate it all the way and pack it up for later - it came with a nifty bag! :)

Hey, Throw my ball!!!

Reavy loves his new "Zoink" ball we got for him. He has an orange one for the backyard and a green one for the ball launcher. They glow in the dark, they are tough enough that he can't ruin them in a matter of days, and he loves them! He's also sporting a collar you see, as we went to the Vet on Weds. Yay! One down, two to go! Really though, I think Riley is the worst, Reavy and Aidan got shots at SOME point last year, but it's been a little longer for Ri-Ri. but, since he's so much more active and could get into a fight with something way more than Riley or Aidan, he got his shots first!

All things fried....

Yum.yum.yum! Last night was the first time we've had mozzarella sticks and poppers that weren't cooked in the oven (not going to a restaurant)....OMG! SOOOOOOOOOOOO delicious! :) I want to get them ALL the time now!! I love our Dual Daddy Deep Fryer!!!!!

Cindy's Enchiladas take two!

We gave Cindy's chicken enchilada recipe another try last night for dinner. SO GOOD :) . We used corn tortillas this time, but I only got 2 cans of sauce and I think I needed at least one more.. AND stupid Save-A-Lot didn't have any fucking pepper jack cheese - ugh! So what I'm saying is that they were good, but not as good as they should have been. Next time enough sauce and pepper jack cheese!! :)

WHAT a deal!

So we were at Wal-Mart yesterday and ended up in the Clearance aisle....YAY! Because we got a queen size air mattress - pump INCLUDED for $30! Rock on! We thought we were going to have to spend $40-$60 to get one and a pump....so COOL! (Last time we took the futon mattress and it was a HUGE pain in the ass) Now all we need to get is a big coleman lantern and we're all set for our next trip!

OMG! The weather!

Okay. So last weekend it was fucking SNOWING, and right now, 4p.m. Friday, it's EIGHTY -- TWO DEGREES! Spring's back! :)

Yeah, that's a Presto Deep Fryer right there, and we just used it this past week for the first time, and well....AWESOME! Or is that awesomely bad for you?! :) Either way, this thing ROCKS! My sister got a new one awhile back so she gave us her old one. Deep frying is totally okay if you only do it once a week....right?! :)

Finally! A new casserole!!

Okay. So maybe it's not ENTIRELY new, maybe just a little reworked! We used to make stuffed green bell peppers when doing the low carb thing in the past - so we made them again this week, but with some rice too, not just MEAT MEAT MEAT! So anyway, when we made them, there seemed to be WAY too much stuff to put into just two peppers (we must have had four in the past) so I just did my own thing! Layer of peppers, layer of rice/meat mixture, more peppers on top, and of course...some cheese - what casserole is any good without cheese?!? :) Anywho - it was dee-lish!

Really! If you don't start with Uncle Ben's, then you will have a bunch of sticky, nasty, gross-ass rice! My parents and sister ALWAYS get us this shit rice when they go to the Commissary in Little Rock. And well, it's awful like I was saying. It's real nice they they get us shit when they are there, and we REALLY appreciate it, but they could stop with the off-brand rice! And, I'm sure they will after this post. And what that means is that we will no longer be getting ANY free rice in the future!! :) That's okay. I think we can splurge a little for the real deal! :) And anyone out there that CAN make good rice out of grody off-brand rice.....Kudos to you! So just go get some Uncle Ben's Rice and forget about spending mucho dinero on a rice maker!!! :) :)

More OMG! It's snowing!

Seriously, we are leaving the beer out there! :) (oh, & sorry Tiffanie!) So we are ALL SET for a wintry weekend! :) Julie had an absolutely AWFUL week with work (she was super busy) and she got all stressed out so now her neck is killing her! I keep telling her she smells "nice" Really though, Icy Hot is anything but! We have beer, four movies, AND it's fucking snowing! It's been at least since 2002 or 03 that we saw some snow in CO when we were at my parents, and now it's here in C-Town! :)
