Rodeo Parade!

We.Heart. Rachel. Ray.

We have a love-hate relationship with Rachel Ray. A LONG, long time ago, WAY before most people we knew even knew about Food Network (our Friend Leo worked at Willams-Sonoma in the late 90's) - we watched her show- we LOVED it! Yummy food in 30 minutes? Awesome! Then after the years went by, we still liked her, but sometimes found her A.) Annoying, and B.)TOTALLY manic (seriously, you could totally tell when she was UP or DOWN - and it was zero fun watching her when she was all bummed out) Then she got her TALK show (how retarded is that? And a little too saturated for our tastes)) but, at least she was still doing Food Network - but, it didn't matter, because by that point we didn't watch it much! We had become more Giada and Tyler peeps! THEN....they did a "chef-ography" thing on Food Network, and she was one of the people that was featured.....WELL......she TOTALLY loves dogs,- she REALLY loves them) she rescues them, she has a PIT BULL, and that dog has the life, let me tell you. So we came to love RR again! Still, we'll NEVER watch that stupid fucking talk show!! :) Anyhoo- I totally stole this pic from D-listed and this quote from her as well! Hopefully this shit will be affordable, probably not though. :( But since it's all going to doggie rescue stuff- we'll probably buy some anyway...THAT is if we can EVEN find it here!

Taco Salad!

We made taco salad awhile back and it was super yummy. This recipe is from my mom - Jules said that her grandma used to make a similar one. We made it last summer, but the leftovers got all soggy and disgusting. This time we kept everything separate and put it together as we ate it - TOTALLY the ticket. Man, now I want to get the ingredients and make it again...one of the FEW reasons I like summer is because it makes you want to have stuff like this. I never crave a taco salad in December! :)

Louisiana and it's fucked up laws......

are TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! We had the day from hell yesterday, but driving home from Monroe at 8pm was MUCH, MUCH better with the drive-thru daiquiri place!! :) Julie had been having some eye strain lately, so we went to the STUPIDFUCKINGLAMEASSWAYOVERCHARGING eye dr. here in town and then took the RX down to Eyemasters in Monroe to get her new glasses. it was kind of an ordeal and at one point we both were thinking that Aston Kutcher was going to pop out and tell us that we had been punked......but it all worked out, and we ACTUALLY got her glasses, and didn't have to go back to Monroe (a TWO hour round trip) today. Last time she got new glasses at the same Eyemasters (3 years ago) we had to go back the NEXT day to get them...it TOTALLY sucked! But, if we were to try to do it here, she'd have to wait a week - not to mention it would have been OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive!! Going to the dr. here for her exam and RX was $152 fucking dollars!! Her TWO pairs (she doesn't like bi-focals) of glasses were $142.97!!!!! Oh my god.... WE HATE THIS TOWN!!!!!!!! And my WHOLE family goes there- they either have awesome vision insurance (and really, who does??) or they don't have a problem paying that super inflated price because it's HERE! Oh yeah, the eye exam would have been $49 fucking dollars....oh wait, I mean $39 because they were having a special!!! UGH!

It's 99 and feels like 117 !!! Unfuckingbelievable!!!

OMG! I made a brisket....

Okay, not really. But this shit was GOOD! and, since I happened to find it, I can say that I will NEVER make a brisket!! We got it at Wal-mart (of course) I can't wait to step foot into the Signature Kroger in our prospective neighborhood in Little Rock!! :) Anyhoo, it was fully cooked, sliced, and DEE-LISH!!! If you like BBQ sandwiches you should definitely try one!! Oh yeah, it was cheap as shit too - that's always a PLUS!! :)

F I N A L L Y !!!!!!

I can breathe again! We are on the market as of yesterday afternoon!! Yay! WHAT a nightmare! There is still tons of little stuff that needs to be done (paint touch ups - EVERYWHERE - and I still have to paint the back splash in the kitchen red so it ties everything together - but that's not a big deal - overall, we are ready for showing - especially in THIS town! :) You should see what some of the other houses that are for sale look like - do they REALLY want to sell or not? But hopefully - our motivation will pay off for us....we'll see.

In other news ,as Jenny would say :), we have not been able to drive the Jeep for OVER two weeks now - my mom and dad aren't going to come home until August, so my awesome brother-in-law is going to look at it - he thinks it's bearings, rotor, etc. But, he's super busy at work and home - so he's hoping he can get to it here in another few weeks - so that's WAY better than taking it somewhere. However, driving Julie's mom's suburban around is going to put us in the poor house! Trust me - NO ONE wants to be driving around in a Suburban that gets like 15 miles to the gallon- unless of course you're Bill Gates!!! :( AND we broke down and had the A/C repaired (ouch!) because it's FUCKING HOT AS SHIT HERE once again this summer! Today it's 93 but feels like 110 and the weather has pretty much been doing this since JUNE! UGH! Ahh, but we'll try to look on the bright side....at least we have two "not our cars" that we can drive and spend money on! Oops - guess that wasn't too bright after all!! :) :) :)

Anywho -My stupid monitor only stays on for about two minutes at a time so when we can- we need to get another one....so I haven't been posting or surfing as much because it's driving me crazy having to turn it off and back on every other second! Plus, I have been TOTALLY consumed with all this house crapola!! MAN, I'm REAL positive today, let me tell ya!! :) :) :) Anywho - I need to figure out if I can post from Julie's computer - that's an idea!! :) okie dokie - I'm gonna go jump on her computer as a matter of fact and see what's going on in the world of Blogs and what not!! :) Later! :)

Slowly but surely....

But more like SLOWLY. It seems like I have been doing this shit FOR ever! Ugh. Buying a house is no big deal....it's SELLING it that sucks!! :) Ugh again! :) But, we are almost there. I think that we can have it ready by Monday or Tuesday. Then there will be TONS to do still, but I can do it at a less frantic pace, which is good considering I will be having to vacuum/dust (I don't dust!!) EVERY day!! Fuck! I SO want to get rid of a few dogs at the moment!! :) I cannot BELIEVE how much fucking hair they shed! Ugh! (#3) Here are a few pics of the fun!!

Happy July 4th! Jenny has a theory about gas prices and fireworks, and I think she's right cuz we haven't heard many firecrackers this week either. The city always does the big ones over Lucas Pond - so we will still have to endure the walls of the house shaking when they set those off - it's CRAZY how loud they are, and we live a little bit AWAY from the pond - I can't imagine what the people directly across the street hear! Maybe we'll just gather up the doggies and go watch instead!! :)

But - regardless.....this getting your house ready for some annoying people to go THROUGH it(in places they shouldn't be going through either!) and hopefully BUY it is...................S U C K Y....... ...
