okay, playing games and getting a little exercise by having to move around is one thing....but THIS? I for one don't want to watch some totally in shape guy do push ups w/ ease while I sweat my ass of to do, oh, i don't know....THREE of them! and what girl out there wants to watch this skinny bitch w/ her perfectly ZEN house do yoga? no thanks! I suppose though in a way it's pretty cool. that way is IF you are already a totally in shape individual and you're tired of having to go to the gym or yoga class!!

stuffed peppers

we had some stuffed bell peppers the other night. cheesy, meaty, ricey, yummy! and a salad too! we got some frozen shrimp from walmart- i think they're called gulf shrimp, anywho- they are not cooked and they are really good! we've used the frozen cooked kind before, but they aren't so tasty :( these ones are. I think this may be the kind that Jenny uses for her shrimp dishes.

okay, i know that gas is not AS high as it has been, but it's still BAD! filled up the jeep yesterday- 53 fucking dollars and 53 fucking cents! THAT'S just ridiculous! it used to cost like 25 bucks tops to fill that tank (okay, so it's almost 9 years old now....but STILL!) when the jeep finally dies were are going to get the smallest, most fucking fuel efficient , CHEAP ASS car out there! FUCK!

fig preserves + biscuit + butter = a really , really yummy breakfast!! look at it just drip down the edge of that biscuit in the back!

here you go Tiffanie!

lumpia - dice an onion and a bout 1/2 of a green pepper and saute for a little while in pan
then add 1/2 # ground beef and 1/2# ground pork and brown it (the little walmart you go to has it-all we have ever used is the red. fat kind b/c that's all we can find) keep the heat on and add all ingredients while stirring as you add so meat will completely cook
i'm not a big measurer- so just add to taste/smell
salt, pepper, garlic and/or garlic powder
a little red pepper flakes
soy sauce
little cumin
chinese 5 spice (you can get at your walmart)-be careful not to add too much though, because it can be overpowering
ginger (i just use the cheap ass ground kind) this is the one that will give you that "i just made egg rolls that are as good as a chinese restaurant's!!" flavor. i usually add the most of this.
once you have this mixture smelling/tasting good to you, add chopped cabbage (how much is up to you- we usually end up w/ about a 1/4 or less of the head left depending upon the size of it)
we like it with more cabbage though, because there is plenty of meat in it.
just mix it all up for a couple minutes so it doesn't get too wilty.

put some oil in an electric skillet (screw that- you have a deep fryer don't you?)
so yeah- you will probably not be able to find the crispy lumpia wrappers there- we couldn't- but egg roll wrappers are at walmart( i'm not sure if the little one has them- they're in the produce area) but for sure the big one does.
the directions are on the package- but you can do it however you want-
we use an egg white w/ about 2T of water mixed in and brush it all around the edges to help them seal up good. plop some in your fryer- doesn't take long- the meat is already cooked, so basically, when they are the golden brown you like- take them out and enjoy! they are AWESOME. julie likes them and she's pretty picky :)
*we usually have way more mixture than wrappers so we just freeze the mixture and use it the next time- it's kind of nice b/c you don't have to make any that time- you just have to roll them up and cook!- of course, there won't be as many- but it's still enough for us!
sauce
1/2 cup vinegar ( i use cheap ass walmart brand)
1/2 cup water
1 C brown sugar
dash salt
dash red pepper flakes
you can chop up some pimentos 3T or so- i only put them in if we have them
mix it all up stir until boils
then add cornstarch and stir until it's thickened and take off heat (put about 2T of cornstarch in 1/4C water and mix it all up- otherwise you'll get corn starch lumps)
sprinkle a little paprika on top

YAY!

and they're done!! This shit is like heaven-YUM- we cannot wait until tomorrow morning- a biscuit (or 5) and some of this!!! :)

DAYS, maybe even a WEEK ago, Tiffanie had posted something about this bathroom in china. It showed some really crazy urinals & sinks. Well, yahoo FINALLY got around to them - here are the sinks!

last night! chicken fingers w/ gravy and REALLY buttery rice - julie LOVES me! :)

here you go Tiffanie!

Pecos Casserole
saute 1 onion w/ oil (could use butter)
then add 1 lb. ground beef and brown
add 2T worcestershire and whatever spices you want to - I add a little cumin,garlic or garlic powder,salt, pepper,& red pepper flakes
add can of diced tomatoes
add 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
add 1 can pinto (or whatever bean you like - black, kidney (drain the juice though)
add 1 packet brown gravy mix
add 1 can rotel (drain most of juice)
add 2T taco seasoning
add 2C frozen corn
while doing this- cook 1 package elbow noodles until a little under done (they still have 30 min in oven)
add noodles and mix together
grate cheddar and mozzarella over top (or you can use velveta, but we stopped using it b/c the real cheese makes it WAY better
bake for 30+ min on 350

so, I know I JUST bitched about this maybe a day ago.....but FUCK it's hot. I just spent the later part of the afternoon outside in the backyard doing some plant stuff and it was ridiculously hot out there! It's been soooooooo damn muggy the last week or so....PA-U K E! The computer weather dealie said the fells like temp when I was out there was 113......oh my god.....113? that's riduculous. I think the hottest feels like temp last year was 110 (equally riduculous). anyway, by the time I came back inside I was totally drenched- my hair was as wet as if I had just gotten out of the shower....so like I was saying- WHEN THE FUCK IS WINTER DAMN IT?!?! We are both ready to freeze our asses off!! :(

lumpia = YUMpia!

lumpia! (loom-pia) is basically an egg roll. like a philippine egg roll I suppose, because my mom got this recipe while we were there. they are super duper yummy. these ones were extra good b/c we had the real lumpia wrappers-my mom and dad got some for us on base in Little Rock. Usually, we have to use regular egg roll wrappers, and they are good, but it's just not the same w/o that thin and crispy wrapper! the sauce is great too- pretty much it will make ANY frozen egg roll taste amazing- man, I can't wait for our leftover lumpia lunch!!

I think we may have to actually FOLD some laundry

when we first moved into this house, we were sooooo jazzed that the washer and dryer were actually IN the house- we washed and FOLDED clothes every day- it was soooooo great compared to years of apt. laundry rooms, washaterias , the laundry room at jl's parents and even the house in Katy, with it being in the garage was a HUGE PAIN IN THE ASS...well, obviously, after 3+ years, that has completely worn off! yuck. folding clothes SUCKS.

I realize that I've spent most of my life in Colorado, but JESUS CHRIST there is something really wrong with a "feels like" temperature of 99 fucking degrees at 6pm! I just went outside for 5 minutes and I now need to go take a shower.:( will looking at puppy pictures help me feel any better?? probably! they are just so damn cute
