so I finally got some of these low wattage/energy use bulbs. they are supposed to save you lots of money in electricity and are SUPPOSED to last FIVE years. well, they better come fucking close to that because I am used to getting 4 bulbs for under a buck a walmart!! :) we put them in the two office lamps that are on most of the day, and in a lamp in the living room that we leave on all night and the porch light. I must say though, I am very impressed because they don't get very hot- i can touch the bulb even after it's been on for hours! so, that's super groovy, because we are lamp freaks and have 2 or 3 in every room of our house- the less energy they use and heat they put out- the better!! :)

Wow! Al Gore would be so proud of you! Now, you can watch the big Live Earth concert tomorrow guilt free. I like the idea of them putting out less heat. What's the catch? There's got to be some down side or why wouldn't everybody be using these.
the catch is they are 8 dollars for three lights vs. like 2 dollars for four lights :( so, I have probably spent more on 6 of these than I would have in at least two years of buying normal bulbs- you should totally go get a pack and try them- you'll LOVE them- seriously, you are almost as big of a "lampy" as we are!! :) 60w was too bright for julie right by her desk(shade is white)- we got a 40w instead :)
