at Save-A-Lot! Went there on weds. and FINALLY got some food, not a ton, but it will get us by for a bit, and it's WAY better than what we had- which was like, nothing! I hate this store, but I love it at the same time- this stuff would have been $80+ at Wal-Mart- I SWEAR! and that sucks b/c Wal-Mart is supposed to be so cheap! :( And as you can see, we're eating REAL healthy shit, cuz you can afford the good stuff when your loaded like us!! :) :)

I think I only recognize 3 brands in there. But hey, you got bisquits! Those are very helpful when you need comfort food.
I wonder what the equivalent of Sav-a-Lot is here. I'm officially putting myself on a budget, so I've got to start looking for ways to save money.

I don't think you want to go anywhere that would be the equivalent- at least not in Houston! Seriously though, they should be EVERY WHERE b/c EVERY ONE is fucking poor!! I don't know what we would do if they weren't here!
If you're looking for ways to save $ on food- you know what the answer is...great value (wal-mart brand) cheese instead of kraft, etc! It sucks- but most of it isn't bad, and you get used to it after a while :(
well, tonight i went to Food Town. Only because I was a little drunk after I left Tiffanie's and didn't want to go to Walmart or Kroger. Now, I didn't go with being frugal in mind because basically I wanted ice cream and junk food. But still, I was noticing that it was really cheap in there. And I would spend so much less money there because there is nothing to be tempted by. I mean, they don't even have Haagen Daz there. So you can't "accidently" spend $4 on a pint of ice cream. But still it was highly uncomfortable being in there. Yucky. Especially at 9:30 on Friday night.
yeah, I know the feeling- we TRY to only go there on Sunday mornings when every one's in church! But they are really close to you-maybe during the day it wouldn't be so bad. There used to be another small store here, Jade, it was in the center where the old wal-mart was- it was all nasty and gross- in fact WAY more so than Save-A-Lot, AND it was fucking expensive-UNbelievable! so double check to make sure you can't get the same shit cheaper at the nice,relaxing,non-icky feeling little wal-mart you usually go to! :)
